Discovering Art: Florian Werner
Born in 1966, artist Florian Werner followed the classic career of a successful hotel business. His CV is marked with work experience at the world's top hotel businesses and restaurants. In 1993 he returned back to his parental hotel business in St. Christoph at the Arlberg Massif. Though his passion and generosity characterise him as a hotelier, it also finds other channels.
During a trip to Mallorca Florian Werner decided he wanted to follow his passion for art on a professional level. His first sales and auctions of art work took place in 2007. At the same time the passionate art collector laid the foundation stone for an extensive private art collection.
Subsequently the Hospiz Gallery St. Christoph in the premises of the Arlberg Hospiz Hotel opened in 2008. The dream of running his own gallery away from the Arlberg was realised only a little while later with the opening of the Hospiz Gallery Bregenz. The Hospiz Centre For Arts provides the right ground, a forum for exchange and a constant creative inspiration at the workplace of the artist Florian Werner. During winter the 80-square-metre atelier at the Arlberg Hospiz Hotel is open to artists from around the globe with the Artists in Residence project initiated by artist Florian Werner.
