Hospitality since 1386. The Hospiz was based on the foundation stone of generous hospitality. More than 600 years ago Heinrich, a foundling from Kempten built the Hospiz to protect travellers from the weather of the Arlberg Massif. With papal approval he founded the Brotherhood of St. Christoph.

Nowadays the senior host of Arlberg Hospiz, Adi Werner is heading the brotherhood, keeping the original maxim of the Hospiz alive to this day: granting support to people who find themselves in need without their own fault.

The brotherhood has numerous members including a significant number of royals. The ritual for joining takes place in the Brotherhood Chapel or the private apartment of the Werner Family at the Arlberg Hospiz Hotel. Guests become a sister or brother of the Brotherhood St. Christoph in a festive ritual.
Today the Hotel Arlberg Hospiz in Austria is characterised by Florian Werner, son of Gerda and Adi Werner. The artist and gallery owner extended the luxury hotel at the Arlberg Massif with an artistic tone. At the Hospiz Gallery, which also has a counterpart in Bregenz, creations of modern artists are on display.
