Brotherhood’s wine cellar in Tyrol
Hidden treasures on the Arlberg: the special wine cellar at the 600-year-old Brotherhood’s Wine Cellar houses Adi Werner’s world famous collection of Bordeaux and Burgundy wines.
In 1941 the grapes for the most exquisite Bordeaux wine at the Brotherhood’s Wine Cellar were harvested at the vineyards at Château Clos de Sarpe Saint Emilion. Enjoy rare wines from the vintages 1982 to 1986, quality wines from the sunny year 1990 and select Austrian wines in Tyrol during your holidays in Austria.
Enjoy the unique experience of a wine tasting of Austrian wines in Tyrol at the historic Brotherhood’s wine cellar. Here the ideal of charity practised by the Brotherhood of St. Christoph was born. Countless travellers found shelter from the elements at the hospice built in 1386, the remnants of which can still be seen today.
Today it is not the wayfarers of old who sought shelter from the blizzards and the thunderstorms of the Arlberg, but members of the European high nobility that appreciate the privacy offered by the venerable walls of the Arlberg Hospiz Hotel during their well earned holidays. They are not only attracted by the exquisite Austrian wines, but also the courteous and discreet hospitality of their hosts Adi and Gerda Werner and their son Florian Werner.
