Two thirds underground
While two country houses are being built above ground and will house 17 suites measuring between 85m2 and 260m2, the largest part is underground: the underground arlberg1800 Contemporary Art & Concert Hall comprises a 250m2 concert hall with a Steinway D grand piano and space for around 200 people. The hall will be used for events throughout the year. The studio for our artists in residence, which was previously housed in the spa, will find a new home in the arlberg1800 Contemporary Art & Concert Hall.
Artists in Residence ART and MUSIC
In addition, a music studio with a Steinway B grand piano is planned, so that not only artists in residence for ART, but also artists in residence for MUSIC can spend their artistic holidays here.
An underground corridor will connect the whole building to the Arlberg Hospiz Hotel. 78 underground parking spaces are also being created. The arlberg1800 Contemporary Art & Concert Hall will also offer space and the ideal setting for conferences, meetings, car presentations, etc.
The White Space at the arlberg1800 Contemporary Art & Concert Hall offers a 560m2 exhibition space for art. The room height of 8m is a testimony to the generous dimensions provided for works of art. Two exhibitions are set to be held here each year.
Area for the next generation
A key area of focus is national and international artists of the next generation (born since 1980). The arlberg1800 Contemporary Art & Concert Hall, which has been open at the Arlberg Hospiz Hotel throughout the year for artists since 4 October 2015, provides an ideal environment for artistic activities.
